Milwaukee, WI – On August 18, amid public outcry, political scrutiny and protests, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy announced that his so-called ‘reforms’ will be put on hold until after the election. While voting rights advocates can and should take this as a partial win, postal workers and concerned postal customers must continue to escalate and build a movement that can permanently end DeJoy’s policies of deliberate sabotage and reverse the damage that has already been done.

SDS on parade

Milwaukee, WI – A dozen members of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) marched in Independence Day parades for the fourth year in a row over the July 4 weekend. The group of student and youth activists entered parades – without registering – in Whitefish Bay and Shorewood, which are in the midst of a heated recall campaign against Republican State Senator Alberta Darling.

Major rallies in Milwaukee, Madison this week

On behalf of the banks, corporations and the Pentagon, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has declared all-out war on unions and their allies in the badger state. Walker’s “budget repair bill” proposal that he unveiled at a state capitol press conference Feb. 11 proposes to virtually eliminate collective bargaining for approximately 175,000 public-sector union members. Walker has submitted his proposal to the Wisconsin legislature with the directive that he wants his bill passed in the Assembly and the Senate by Feb. 17.
