75 people entered the lobby of the Dirksen Federal Building here, Dec. 23, to make a statement to U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and the FBI. They were there because four more anti-war and international solidarity activists have been subpoenaed to appear before a grand jury.

One caller after another asked for the Duty Clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago, Dec. 9. The paralegal politely told a woman caller, “We’re getting all of these comments to Patrick Fitzgerald so that he knows where the people stand on this issue.”

The FBI has informed a lawyer from the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) that at least three new subpoenas to appear before a Grand Jury have been delivered in the Chicago area.

Speaking at a Nov. 10 Town Hall meeting here on the war on dissent, Minneapolis anti-war and Colombia-solidarity activist Jess Sundin received a standing ovation after describing her experience as a target of FBI raids on Sept. 24. “We have got to push back to stop these attacks,” Sundin stated. “We can’t let them attempt to silence us.”

FBI agents are continuing their campaign of harassment here against anti-war and international solidarity activists. On Nov. 19, the FBI attempted to question a former member of the Anti-War Committee. She was not at the address they went to.
