University of Florida students hold die-in.

Gainesville, FL – 150 students participated in a die-in, called for by the University of Florida’s chapter of Dream Defenders, Dec. 5, to protest ongoing police brutality in the U.S. After the decision to not indict the NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo who murdered Eric Garner, protests gained speed all over the U.S.

Gainesville, FL – On Nov. 10 the University of Florida’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) held a corner sign-holding protest in support of Rasmea Odeh. Odeh is a 67-year-old Palestinian woman activist from Chicago who is now being held in a Detroit jail. The U.S. government is targeting her because she is a powerful leader who speaks out against U.S. complicity in Israeli war crimes.

Boston, MA – Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) held the 4th National Conference at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26. The conference, titled “Beyond Solidarity: Resisting Racism and Colonialism from the U.S. to Palestine” emphasized the importance of solidarity with all liberation struggles, both inside and outside of the U.S. Nearly 500 students gathered to discuss how to free Palestine, stand in solidarity with the African American and anti-police brutality struggles in Ferguson, Missouri and effectively fight all systems of oppression.
