Minneapolis, MN – Standing in the front of U.S. Bank Stadium, leaders of the Super Bowl Anti-Racist Anti-Corporation Coalition (SAAC) announced their plans Jan. 11 at a press conference for a Feb. 4 rally that will start at Peavey Park, at 3 p.m., followed by a march on the stadium on Super Bowl Sunday. Organizers say they are uniting to protest racist police brutality and the sellout of the city to greedy NFL owners and corporate sponsors.

SAAC spokesperson Jess Sundin stated, “We are here today, a growing coalition of community organizations, unions and student groups to say no to racism and corporate greed. We expect to see hundreds in the streets with us on Super Bowl Sunday.”

Daphne Brown of the Twin Cities Coalition for Justice 4 Jamar said, “Last year’s football season, players spoke out against racism and police brutality and took a knee, inspiring a national conversation that reached beyond the football stadiums. Although Trump and the NFL attacked the players for speaking out, we support Colin Kaepernick, Michael Bennett, Marshawn Lynch, and all athletes – from the NFL to local high schools – who use their voices to demand justice.”
