San Francisco, CA - On May 1, thousands of people gathered in San Francisco’s Latino community in the Mission and marched to the Civic Center. A common theme was opposition to Arizona’s new law, SB1070.

Latino and Asian community organizations, trade unions and college students joined families, religious, anti-war, and international solidarity organizations for the march. Chants of, “Si se puede!” and, “Obama, escucha, estamos en la lucha!” rang out. Latino workers from restaurants, small shops and car washes lined the sidewalk to watch and support the march.
