Los Angeles, CA - Immigrant rights activists formed a human chain around the federal building, March 25 to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the mega-march that filled LA streets.

Afterwards, the organizers held a press conference to announce another round of the massive strikes and protests that will rock Los Angeles and other cities around the U.S. This May Day, participants will stay home from school and work, abstain from buying, selling and similar activities. They will take to the streets to demand an end to ICE raids and to full equality for undocumented workers.

“On May 1 we will send a powerful message to the rulers of this country, that we are serious about legalization for the undocumented, an end to raids and deportations and full equality now,” said Carlos Montes, a veteran leader of the Chicano movement.
