More than 500 people marched here, Oct. 15, to mark the tenth year of the U.S. war in Afghanistan with a call for an end to the occupation and for U.S. troops to be brought home now.

About 1500 people marched and rallied here, Oct. 8, to demand an end to U.S. wars and occupations. The protest coincided with the ten year anniversary of the invasion of Afghanistan. Chanting, "We are the 99%!" and "Occupy Chicago, troops home now!" the protest joined with Occupy Chicago.

On Oct. 8, over 100 people rallied and marched against the continuing U.S./NATO occupation of Afghanistan. The event was organized to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, which began in October of 2001.

Thirty U.S. troops were killed when Taliban forces shot down their helicopter over Afghanistan Aug. 6. The helicopter crash was the most deadly single incident for the U.S. military forces in Afghanistan since the war began nearly ten years ago in 2001.
