On to D.C. on March 21! Thousands of immigrants, supporters and activists will rally in Washington D.C. It’s time to demand legalization now for the 12 million undocumented in the U.S. The rally is important because it draws attention to the increased suffering of the millions of immigrants, especially those from Mexico and Central America. It comes at an important time where immigration reform legislation is being discussed in the U.S. congress. The rally will put pressure on President Obama and the U.S. congress to take action now - this spring - we cannot wait another year.
The March 21 Immigrant Rights rally in Washington D.C. must be supported by all of us. We need to express solidarity with the immigrants rights movement and build unity among working-class people.
The suffering of immigrants continues, with millions living underground in fear that the next knock on the door, police checkpoint or call to the boss’s’ office will bring arrest, confiscation of property or firing. On top of this, undocumented workers are up against the increased unemployment or underemployment caused by the economic crisis.
Mass firings continue due to the U.S. Homeland Security ICE sanctions on employers. ICE raids, detentions and deportations continue to separate immigrant families. The use of section 287(g), which allows for ICE collusion with local police departments, brings more repression and fear.
The demands for the D.C. rally call for immigration reform now. We need to insist on full legalization, along with stopping the repressive ICE actions.
Join the thousands converging on D.C. this weekend or join an action in your local city.

I am an American but as an
I am an American but as an American I know and work with many people of different
cultures and from different countries. Many of my friends are not from this country. My opinion
to this whole situation is this if the immigrants (as they call them) are not bothering anyone
leave them alone!!!! These people are just like us Americans trying to make a better life
for their families. Trying to provide food, clothes, shelter, good school and much more for their
families. If anyone has ever been to a foreign country and see how they live and breath and maybe spend one week in a country like Honduras with little food, water only 2 hours everyday, trash everywhere because there is no dump or land field, out houses or better called out door bathrooms.
Try going their after living in America all your life. Most Americans would not last 1 day, WHY because Americans are used to having indoor plumbing, running water, air conditioning, heat and some things the people in that country will never see. Take for example gaming systems like PS3 or PSP, and if they do find it their it's because someone sent it over their from America. So you tell me WHY it is so wrong for someone wanting a better life with better opportunities????? Now I will agree to some things on immigrants like yes if they are here selling drugs and killing people Yes lock them up IF NOT LEAVE THEM ALONE, MAKE THEM LEGAL!!!!!!!!! Some people say oh they are stealing our jobs. Has everyone seen a spanish person work? I tell you as hard as they work about
3/4 of Americans would roll over in their grave before thinking about working that hard. They are not stealing our jobs they are doing the jobs we can't or won't do,in less time and most of the time
better. What really gets to me is how people take advantage of them, for example someone looking for a job and finds one in construction they work from day light til dark and think well I am going to make $10 every hour thats what the boss said but at the end of the week when the job is done and they go to the boss for their paycheck what happens is oh I don't have your money yet call me tomorrow and I will bring it to you but tomorrow never comes because the boss won't answer the phone. What are those guy's suppost to tell their family OH I'm sorry I can't but food for us this week or start packing I can't pay the rent or power. Or my favorite sorry kids I can't buy you those shoes at goodwill you will have to glue your shoes back together again and try to make them do for a little while later. This whole situation is very upsetting to me because I have been to that foreign country and I have seen how things work and I have seen people get messed over with their money and I have seen the kids that pay for it ONLY TO TRY TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE...
