2006 Fundraising Drive Off to a Great Start!
Dear Readers,
In November, Chicago supporters of Fight Back! got an early jump on our yearly fundraising campaign, garnering more than a thousand dollars at their annual People’s Thanksgiving celebration. It is efforts like these that makes it possible for the editors and staff to keep building this paper.
We urge all who support this paper to follow the great example that was set in Chicago. We live in a capitalist society, so money is needed to print, ship and send out the paper to all of our subscribers. We depend on you to provide the financial support that will help us develop Fight Back! over the upcoming year.
When big battles of working and oppressed people are underway, we do everything in our power get reporters and Fight Back! distributors to the front lines. Right now, a major struggle of Delphi-GM workers is in progress. Reporters and writers for this paper have been present at the mass meetings of auto workers from Flint, Michigan to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Teamsters are on the move, determined to get rid of the corrupt clique that heads their union. Our writers are a part of this effort and will keep you up-to-date.
From the immigrants’ rights rallies in California to the Houston Astrodome in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, the editors, staff and distributors of this paper are committed to bringing you the truth from our side of the barricades. We have contacts in more than 40 countries, from Palestine to Venezuela, the Philippines to Iraq and in Europe. This means that we can provide some of the up-to-date international coverage you need.
On top of this, we maintain an exciting online news service that can be accessed at www.figthbacknews.org, where we publish dozens of articles that we can’t fit in the print edition of the paper.
